More info

Who killed the German tourist on the passenger ship Viking Sally 34 years ago?

On a warm summer evening in 1987, a young German couple are brutally attacked while sleeping on the deck of the passenger ship Viking Sally on the route from Stockholm, Sweden, to Turku, Finland.

The man tragically dies, while the woman is injured with severe and permanent brain damage. An 18-year-old Danish boy scout is a central witness in the case and is praised as a hero when he tries to help the injured German couple.

But many years later the Danish boy scout, Herman Himle, is suddenly suspected of the crime on Viking Sally by Finnish authorities.

Ascending into adulthood he became a hardened criminal spending over 18 years in prison. Who is this man and what really happened on the ferry?

MURDER AT SEA is an investigation of the horrendous crime on Viking Sally, the subsequent trial against Herman Himle 34 years later, and key testimonies from Himle himself.
